Pally Iriase Declines Membership in APC’s National Campaign Council for Edo State Governorship Election

Former Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Pally Iriase, has declined his membership in the National Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Edo State governorship election. Iriase’s name was included in the list of appointees released by the APC on Friday, but he rejected the appointment citing reasons that he was not consulted before being included in the team and that he has stepped aside from partisan politics.

In a statement, Iriase expressed his gratitude to the National Working Committee for finding him worthy of the appointment, but he rejected the offer for the following reasons. Firstly, he was never consulted before being included in the team, and secondly, he has been out of partisan politics for several years and has no intention of returning to it.

Iriase also stated that he does not want his associates, friends, admirers, and family to see him as a hypocrite. He wished the APC a successful campaign and a peaceful election, but urged everyone to respect his desire to be excluded from partisan politics.

This development comes as a surprise to many, as Iriase’s name was included in the list of appointees released by the APC. The reasons behind his rejection of the appointment are unclear, but it is evident that Iriase is committed to his decision to step aside from partisan politics.
