Megan Thee Stallion Unleashes Her Inner ‘Mamushi’ in Fiery New Music Video

In a thrilling new music video, Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion transforms into a venomous viper, a Japanese Mamushi, and teams up with featured musician Yuki Chiba to take down a crew of gangsters in the trending song "Mamushi." The creative visuals were directed by Kevin "Onda" Leyva and produced by Tokyo-based creative company PUSH Japan.

The "Mamushi" video was filmed in various locations in Tokyo, including Tsurumaki Onsen Jinya for the initial spa scene and the Engaku-ji Temple, one of the pre-eminent Zen Buddhist temples in the country. With special effects, action scenes, and dance breaks, Megan Thee Stallion’s transformation into the Mamushi is both captivating and mesmerizing.

"Mamushi" has emerged as a fan favorite from Megan Thee Stallion’s self-titled album, released in June 2024 via Hot Girl Productions LLC. The song has generated over 150 million global streams (and counting), reaching the Top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100 charts and No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Viral chart in Japan.

The full album features a star-studded lineup, including Victoria Monét, Big K.R.I.T., Buddah Bless, UGK, GloRilla, Kyle Richh, and of course, Yuki Chiba across 18 tracks. Megan Thee Stallion has spoken highly of the album, detailing that it is a reflection of her growth and newfound happiness.

"My emotion doesn’t stop at sadness because I did grow and I did start feeling more things. I started feeling really happy. So you have songs on the album that are about the positive times that I’m starting to have. You get a little bit of everything. You get all the emotions in there," she explained in a recent interview.
