Benue PDP Commences Sale of Nomination Forms for Local Government Council Polls

The Benue State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has kicked off the sale of nomination forms for local government council polls across the state. According to a statement released by the party’s publicity secretary, Oryina Orvaa, on Monday, the forms are now available for aspiring chairmen and councillors.

Aspiring chairmen will need to pay N100,000, which includes a N50,000 Expression of Interest fee to be paid at the party’s State Secretariat. Councillorship aspirants, on the other hand, will need to pay N70,000, with a N20,000 Expression of Interest fee to be paid at the State Secretariat.

Female aspirants for both positions are exempt from paying the N100,000 or N70,000 fees, as nomination forms are free for all female candidates.

The deadline for the sale and submission of forms is Saturday, August 24, 2024. Screening of aspirants is set to commence on August 25, 2024, with chairmanship aspirants being screened at the party secretariat in Makurdi, and councillorship aspirants being screened at the various zonal headquarters.

Orvaa has urged all party members to comply with the directive as the party gears up to win all chairmanship and councillorship seats in the forthcoming local council elections in Benue State.
