NPA Donates N200m to Borno Flood Victims

Nigerian Ports Authority Donates N200 Million to Flood Victims in Borno State

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has shown its compassion and commitment to disaster relief efforts by donating the sum of N200 million to the victims of devastating floods that ravaged some communities in Borno State. The agency presented the cheque to the Governor of Borno State in Maiduguri on Friday, and the donation is a testament to its solidarity with the state during this difficult period.

The Managing Director of the NPA, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, explained that the agency stands with Borno State in this time of need, citing the significant losses and disruptions to lives and livelihoods caused by the floods. He expressed his hope that the donation would aid in the relief efforts and help stabilize the victims as quickly as possible.

The donation comes on the heels of a devastating flood that struck Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, last week, leaving over 414,000 people displaced and 30 dead. The NPA’s gesture is a significant expression of support for the disaster relief efforts and a recognition of the severity of the situation.

The NPA’s Executive Directors, Ibrahim Umar, Vivian Edet, and Olalekan Badmus, presented the cheque on behalf of the agency, under the guidance of the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola.

This generous donation demonstrates the NPA’s commitment to its corporate social responsibility and its willingness to contribute to the well-being of those affected by natural disasters. It is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope and support available.
