Health Officials in Nigeria’s Yobe State Convene for Strategic Planning Session

A five-day training session is underway in Yobe State, Nigeria, aimed at harmonizing the state’s health sector annual operational plan for 2025. According to Dr. Babaga Kundi Machina, the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Primary Healthcare Board, the workshop is a culmination of efforts to streamline the state’s healthcare sector. “This is a culmination of efforts that have started earlier, where all agencies in the state have been mandated to go and look inward,” he explained. Dr. Machina emphasized the importance of participant input, urging them to actively contribute to the workshop and shape the future of healthcare in Yobe State.

The training session is aligned with the federal government’s strategic blueprint for the health sector, ensuring that Yobe State’s priorities are in line with national objectives. Dr. Lawan Gana, the Yobe State Commissioner for Health, highlighted the significance of the annual operational plan in preventing overlaps among agencies and partners during project execution.
