APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu, along with South‑West governors, former governors and ministers, is expected to be received in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Thursday. The rally will be held at the historic Mapo Hall, according to a statement from Kehinde Olaosebikan, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Oyo State. The event, originally scheduled for February 7, was moved to Thursday in solidarity with the masses over the new naira notes and fuel scarcity, the News Agency of Nigeria reported.

Olaosebikan said the rally will provide Tinubu with a platform to outline his programmes for Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole. He noted that APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu will lead members of the party’s National Working Committee and other senior officials to the event. “The state coordinator for the Tinubu‑Shettima Campaign Council, Senator Teslim Folarin, and the Director‑General of the APC Campaign Council in Oyo State, Dr Isiaka Kolawole, are working to ensure that the rally is successful and the mother of all rallies,” he added.

Security arrangements have been intensified around the venue to protect people and property, and traffic management plans will facilitate smooth movement of both pedestrians and vehicles on the streets traversed by the campaign train. Upon arrival at Alakia Airport, Tinubu and his running mate Shettima will be welcomed by governors, ministers and other dignitaries led by Folarin, the APC governorship candidate for the state. The campaign train will then proceed to the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun, before making a brief stop at Idi‑Ape to begin a colourful procession to Mapo Hall for the main event.

The rally will feature performances by music maestro King Wasiu Ayinde K1, the sensational Fuji group Merenge, Rasheed Ayinde, and other top musicians. Attendees will include senior party figures from across the country, the immediate past Governor of Osun State Alhaji Isiaka Oyetola, and Southern governors accompanied by their counterparts from Kano (Abdullahi Ganduje), Kaduna (Nasir El‑Rufai), Imo (Hope Uzodinma), Nasarawa (Abdullahi Sule), Niger (Sanni Bello) and others. Additionally, seven South‑West ministers are expected, among them Babatunde Fashola, Niyi Adebayo, Senator Olorunnibe Mamora, Dr Olamilekan Adegbite, Ademola Adegoroye, Rauf Aregbesola, and host minister Chief Sunday Dare.
