The Ogun State Police Command announced that it has arrested two suspects who allegedly purchased the stolen car of Kehinde and Bukola Fatinoye and their only son, Oreoluwa, who were killed on New Year’s Day in Abeokuta. The police had previously paraded three suspects accused of murdering the couple and their son on Friday, and on Monday it detained two individuals who bought the victims’ vehicle.

State Police Public Relations Officer SP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed the arrests in a statement on Tuesday. He identified the two suspects as Azeez Usman and Owolaja Aanuoluwapo, who were apprehended at different locations in the state after confessing to the crime. According to Oyeyemi, the suspects told police that the car was sold to Usman for N150,000.

Oyeyemi recounted the sequence of events: after killing the couple, the perpetrators seized their son Oreoluwa and their adopted child, Felix Olorunyomi, tied them with rope, and placed them in the boot of a Hyundai. They drove the children to the Ogun River Bridge in the Adigbe area and threw them into the river. The suspects later parked the car in the Oke‑Ata area of Abeokuta, where Owolaja Aanuoluwapo retrieved it and drove it to Azeez Usman’s workshop. There, the vehicle was dismantled and sold in parts.

Police investigations revealed that the two suspects were aware the car was stolen, yet they proceeded to purchase it for N150,000. Oyeyemi added that State Commissioner of Police Frank Mba has ordered that all suspects be arraigned in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
