Edo Queens Arrive in Morocco for Debut in 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League

The Edo Queens touched down in Casablanca, Morocco, on Thursday night, ready to compete in their inaugural appearance at the CAF Women’s Champions League. The Nigerian champions shared the news on social media, expressing their excitement. “Touchdown in Morocco! We have safely landed and received a warm welcome from our hosts. We’re ready, focused, and excited for the journey ahead!” the team announced on X (formerly Twitter).

Led by coach Moses Aduku, the Edo Queens are set to face off in Group B against reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, Masar FC of Egypt, and CBE from Ethiopia. Their first match is scheduled for Sunday, where they will go head-to-head with Masar FC in Casablanca.

This marks a historic moment for the Edo Queens as they embark on their first journey in Africa’s top women’s club football competition, bringing enthusiasm and hopes of a strong showing for Nigeria.
