The naira appreciated against the dollar at both official and black markets on Tuesday to end 2024 on a positive note.
FMDQ data showed that the naira strengthened slightly to N1538.25 per dollar on Tuesday from N1,538.55, gaining N0.3 against the dollar.
Similarly, on the black market, the naira gained N12 to close at N1,655 against the dollar on Tuesday from N1662 exchanged the previous day.
Todayβs trading at FX markets marks a close for 2024 as the world begins a new calendar year on Wednesday, 2025.
Media Talk Africa reports the FX market ended 2023 at N907.11 per dollar. This means that on a year-on-year comparison, the naira fell by N629.14 at the official market.
