Nigerian Govt to reward MSMEs with over N220m prizes, announces date

The Nigerian government has announced plans to reward micro, small and medium enterprises, MSMEs in the country with prizes worth over N220 million.

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Job Creation and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, disclosed this Monday during a press briefing to herald the 7th National MSMEs Award.

Adekunle-Johnson announced that the portal for registration will be opened for all Nigerian businesses to register from Friday, 7th March, 2025, to 7th April 2025.

According to him, President Bola Tinubu’s government is committed to putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians.

He added that businesses of persons with disabilities will be recognised for their contribution to Nigeria’s economy.

“The portal will be opened on the Friday, 7th March 2025 to 7th April 2025.

“We have considered businesses of people living with disabilities. So, the PWDs category will be included. They have opportunities to compete for the various prizes.

“This year, SMEs will win stores, shops, cards, and money. This year, the overrun winner will go home with a house, store, car, and cash prise.

“We want to change the lives of some of these MSMEs; we want somebody to say it is under Tinubu’s government that I got my own shop, house, or car.

“The MSMEs this year will go home with a house, shop, car, and N20 million cash.

“The overrun winner will go home with the total prise worth over N220 million,” he said.

He explained that the recognition will take place alongside other financial interventions by the Federal Government.

“We want to change the lives of some of these MSMEs; we want somebody to say it is under Tinubu’s government that I got my own shop, house, or car.

“This means that Nigerian MSMEs will be recognised on the business strengths under ten broad categories.”

The screening committee is made up of the National Information Technology Development Agency, the Standard Organisation of Nigeria, the Bank of Industry, and other key government agencies.
