FX Rates Unify As Naira Depreciates At Official Black Markets

The Naira depreciated against the dollar across foreign exchange markets on Monday to begin the week on a negative note.

According to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s official foreign exchange data, the Naira dropped to N1,492.49 from N1,499.07 recorded Friday last week.

This showed the Naira dropped by N6.58 against the dollar on Monday compared to N1,499.07 exchanged on Friday.

Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira fell to N1,506 per dollar on Monday from N1,505 traded last week.

Media Talk Africa reports that the Naira gained significantly in February 2025 at the black market in comparison with the official market.
