Russia-Ukraine War: Trump gives General Kellogg new appointment

Trump dismisses US recession fears

United States President Donald Trump on Saturday appointed retired General Keith Kellogg as Special Envoy to Ukraine.

According to Trump, Kellogg will engage directly with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian leadership in an effort to broker a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.

He emphasised that the respected military expert has extensive knowledge of Ukraine, making him the ideal candidate for the role.

Kellogg was initially the US envoy to both Russia and Ukraine, but his remit now focuses solely on the Ukrainian side.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated: “I am pleased to inform you that General Keith Kellogg has been appointed Special Envoy to Ukraine.

“General Kellogg, a highly respected military expert, will deal directly with President Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian leadership.

“He knows them well, and they have a very good working relationship. Congratulations to General Kellogg!”
