US: Plane carrying six members of Congress involved in collision

A plane carrying at least six members of Congress representing New York and New Jersey was struck by another aircraft on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred on the tarmac at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Media Talk Africa reports that this was the site of the 29 January mid-air crash that claimed the lives of approximately 67 people.

Suffolk County Representative Nick LaLota confirmed the incident in a post on X on Thursday.

“Serving in Congress has come with some once-in-a-lifetime experiences, like just now while stationary on the runway at DCA, another plane just bumped into our wing. Heading back to the gate, but thankfully everyone is ok!” the Rep said.
