ADC unveiling: Coalition announces new venue hours after hotel cancelled booking

The opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has announced a new venue for the official unveiling of its political platform.

ADC’s Deputy National Secretary, Nkem Ukandu, announced the new venue hours after the sudden cancellation of the event by the management of the hotel which was initially slated to host the unveiling ceremony.

Media Talk Africa reported that the event was originally scheduled to take place at the Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments in Asokoro, Abuja.

However, the management of the hotel abruptly cancelled the fully paid reservation just hours before the programme was set to begin.

The cancellation triggered outrage among opposition leaders, with some accusing the APC-led government of political interference.

In a statement signed by Ukandu, the coalition said the unveiling would now take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja by 2:00 pm on Wednesday.

“Members of the National Working Committee, National Executive Committee, BOT, and other key stakeholders and members are expected to attend.

“Please note that attendance is self-sponsored,” the statement read.

Media Talk Africa reports that the ADC is being positioned as the adopted platform for the opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 election.
