Former Nigerian Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika has denied any involvement in a reported opposition coalition that aims to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Speaking on Channels TV’s *Morning Brief*, Sirika stressed that he has no connection to the group and affirmed that he will never join it. When asked about the allegations, he replied, “No, I am not involved in the coalition.” He recalled a conversation with Chief Bayo Onanuga at the Presidential Villa, during which Onanuga mentioned reports linking Sirika to the coalition. Sirika reiterated his denial, saying, “I told him I was not and never will be.” He added that, in a democratic setting, individuals are free to join coalitions, but he has chosen not to.
Sirika also explained his recent visit to Aso Rock, stating that it was to offer official condolences to President Tinubu after the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari. He praised Tinubu’s handling of the situation and clarified that the purpose of the meeting was solely to convey formal sympathy.
