Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, affirmed the lawmakers’ commitment to backing Speaker Abbas Tajudeen’s mandate. He highlighted the Speaker’s inclusive and respectful leadership style, which has fostered unity among the 359 legislators and transcended party lines.

Agbese praised Tajudeen for ensuring that all members are involved in parliamentary decisions and legislative activities. By engaging with and listening to every member—regardless of status or party affiliation—the Speaker has minimized unnecessary conflicts, strengthened cooperation, and created a peaceful environment in the Green Chamber. This approach, rooted in transparency, sincerity, and the collective good, has earned the Speaker the trust and support of the House.

The deputy spokesperson noted that previous assemblies suffered from division and exclusion, but under Tajudeen’s leadership the House is now united behind him. This unity has translated into significant progress, particularly in the quality of debates, motions, and bills. The stability and sense of cohesion provided by the Speaker have given every member a voice, resulting in robust discussions and diverse perspectives that reinforce Nigeria’s democratic values.

Agbese reiterated that lawmakers will continue to defend the Speaker’s mandate, not only because of his effective leadership but also because it is essential for the institution and the Nigerian people. With the House united behind Tajudeen, he expressed confidence that the legislature will keep advancing, strengthening Nigeria’s democratic foundations. The Speaker’s commitment to inclusive leadership has set a positive tone for the 10th National Assembly, and the lawmakers are determined to support his efforts to promote the collective good of the House and the nation.
