Former NCP Chairman Joins APC Over Tinubu Reforms

A former chairman of the National Conscience Party in Edo State, Victor Ogba, has announced his decision to join the All Progressives Congress. Ogba, who also serves as the National President of the Movement for Nigerian Transformation, cited President Bola Tinubu’s reforms as the reason for his defection. He praised the president’s efforts, describing them as courageous and landmark, and attributed the reforms to the attraction of new members to the APC.

Ogba made the announcement while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja. He revealed that his official declaration for the APC is scheduled to take place on September 16. Prior to this, he was received by the APC chairman of ward 5, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta, on August 22. Ogba expressed his intention to return to his home state of Delta, where he plans to contribute his experience to the APC.

As a veteran politician, Ogba has played a significant role in Edo State politics. He now seeks to replicate his success in Delta, collaborating with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other APC stakeholders to promote stability in the polity. Ogba has committed to abiding by the APC’s constitution and using his expertise to support the party’s growth. He urged Nigerians to continue backing the APC to facilitate President Tinubu’s vision.

The move is seen as a strategic decision, given Ogba’s wealth of experience in politics. His defection to the APC is expected to bolster the party’s presence in Delta State. With his official declaration impending, Ogba is poised to embark on a new chapter in his political career, one that aligns with his commitment to a progressive Nigeria. The development is likely to have implications for the political landscape in Delta State, as the APC seeks to expand its influence under President Tinubu’s leadership.
