The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has suspended its State Secretary, Sa’idu Adamu, over allegations of gross misconduct and anti‑party activities. The State Working Committee made the decision, which was subsequently ratified by the State Executive Committee during a meeting at the party’s secretariat in Kaduna.
According to a statement from State Publicity Secretary Maria Dogo, the suspension takes effect immediately and will last for one month, pending the outcome of investigations and any further decisions by the party. During this period, Adamu is barred from participating in any party activities at any level.
The PDP said the action is consistent with Articles 58(1)(h) and 57(3) of its constitution, as amended in 2017. Party leadership, under Chairman Edward Masha, emphasized its commitment to internal discipline, fairness and justice. The State Working Committee is focused on strengthening party structures and ensuring accountability across all ranks.
By suspending a high‑ranking official such as Adamu, the PDP demonstrates its resolve to address internal issues and maintain a disciplined organization. As the party navigates the complexities of Nigerian politics, its ability to manage internal conflicts and adhere to its constitution will be closely watched. The next steps will depend on the investigation’s findings, and the party’s commitment to fairness and justice will be tested. With the suspension in place, the PDP is likely to concentrate on rebuilding trust and reinforcing its internal structures to present a stronger, more united front moving forward.
