Orji Kalu Vows to Campaign for Tinubu in Southeast

Orji Uzor Kalu, the former governor of Abia State, has expressed his commitment to campaigning for President Bola Tinubu in his senatorial district and the Southeast region. In a recent appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Kalu stated that he is confident Tinubu will emerge victorious in the Southeast in the 2027 elections.

Kalu’s confidence stems from his interactions with the people of Abia State, which he believes will lead to a win for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. He acknowledged that his efforts in the 2023 elections were not sufficient, but he plans to dedicate more time and energy to the 2027 campaign. Kalu intends to spend five months in Abia, campaigning day and night to deliver the state to Tinubu and the APC.

The former governor dismissed suggestions that he is misleading Tinubu about the prospects of winning in the Southeast. He emphasized that his confidence is based on his understanding of the people’s sentiments and his own commitment to the campaign. Kalu also stated that he does not need any favors from the president to justify his support, implying that his backing is genuine and not driven by personal gain.

The 2027 elections are expected to be a significant test for Tinubu and the APC, particularly in the Southeast region. Kalu’s commitment to campaigning for Tinubu could potentially boost the president’s chances in the region. As the political landscape continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how Kalu’s efforts will impact the outcome of the elections. With the 2027 elections still some time away, political parties and candidates are likely to intensify their campaigns in the coming months.
