President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has welcomed over 64,000 new members to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State. The defectors, who previously belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and other parties, were received by Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni, representing the President.
According to a statement by Governor Buni’s Media Aide, Mamman Mohammed, the President assured the new members of equal treatment and opportunities within the party. He emphasized that they will be treated equally with older members, praising their courage and determination to support the ruling party’s mission and commitment to national development.
The President reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing security nationwide, safeguarding lives and property, and promoting economic growth. He also pledged to complete the Kano-Maiduguri federal highway, which will facilitate the delivery of goods and services, stimulating economic development.
Tinubu commended Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi for his developmental achievements, which have positively impacted the lives of the people. The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, also praised Governor Namadi, urging the new members to feel at home and work for the APC.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Alh. Kabiru Ibrahim Masari, called on the people of Jigawa State to support the APC administration in its efforts to move Nigeria forward. He assured that Jigawa State will continue to benefit from the APC-led federal government, which will improve the lives of the people.
Governor Umar Namadi stated that the support from the federal government has enhanced the lives of the people in Jigawa State. He affirmed that the state will remain an APC stronghold, citing the new defections as a significant boost to the party’s presence in the region. With this development, the APC is poised to maintain its dominance in Jigawa State, further solidifying its position in the country’s political landscape.
