APC Welcomes 66,400 New Members in Jigawa State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed 66,400 new members who defected from opposition parties in Jigawa State. The party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, encouraged the new members to participate actively in party activities, assuring them of equal rights and opportunities.

The defections were announced during a ceremony at the Dutse Mini Stadium, where Yilwatda addressed the new members. He attributed the mass defection to the citizens’ satisfaction with the APC-led administration, citing developmental projects in education, health, roads, water, and agriculture. Yilwatda emphasized that the APC is a party that values participation from all members, providing a sense of belonging to its new members.

Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, presented a comprehensive list of the defectors to Yilwatda, detailing their names, villages, wards, and local governments. The defectors joined the APC from main opposition parties, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC). Governor Namadi pledged to continue working with all party members to ensure progress and unity within the party.

The governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership, which has contributed to the APC’s growth. The party’s national chairman expressed confidence that Jigawa State is firmly in support of the APC, given the number of defections. The APC’s expansion in Jigawa State reflects the party’s national trend, as citizens increasingly express satisfaction with the administration’s performance.

The influx of new members is expected to bolster the APC’s presence in Jigawa State, ahead of future elections. As the party continues to grow, its leadership has reaffirmed its commitment to providing equal opportunities for all members to participate in party activities. With its expanding membership base, the APC is poised to maintain its stronghold in Jigawa State, leveraging the support of its new members to drive progress and development in the region.
