The All Progressives Congress (APC) remains Nigeria’s dominant party, according to Hope Uzodinma, chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and governor of Imo State. He made the remark at a gathering of APC stakeholders in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State, where he expressed optimism about the country’s future under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda.
Uzodinma said the positive impact of the reforms is already evident across the nation, noting that Nigeria is gradually becoming prosperous again. The reforms aim to reconstruct, rehabilitate and rebuild a new Nigeria that works for everyone. He highlighted the removal of the fuel subsidy as a significant decision that has increased revenue for the three tiers of government.
The governor also praised the administration’s youth‑empowerment initiative, which seeks to empower 1,000 youths from each of the 8,809 electoral wards nationwide. He described the program as a sustainable pathway to poverty eradication, demonstrating the government’s commitment to tackling socio‑economic challenges.
Prominent politicians, including Senators Adamu Aliero and Atiku Bagudu, attended the Kebbi meeting, a sign of unity and political maturity in the state. Uzodinma welcomed their participation, emphasizing the importance of a unified front for progress and development.
President Tinubu’s reform agenda has been gaining momentum since its inception. The government’s efforts to stimulate economic growth, empower youths and address poverty are being closely watched by Nigerians and international observers alike. As the country continues on this path, the reforms will shape Nigeria’s future and impact its citizens. With the APC’s renewed focus on development and prosperity, the party’s position as a dominant force in Nigerian politics is likely to persist.
