The Jaipur Pink Panthers advanced to the Eliminator stage of Pro Kabaddi 2025 after defeating defending champions Haryana Steelers 30‑27 on Saturday, October 25. This win is a significant milestone for the Panthers, whose squad this season includes several young players.
Head coach Narender Redhu explained that the team’s strategy focused on avoiding Haryana’s key defenders, Jaideep Dahiya and Rahul Sethpal. “Our plan was to avoid Jaideep and Rahul, who are their main defenders. And we did that,” Redhu said at the post‑match press conference. He expressed satisfaction with the performance, noting that the victory boosts confidence, especially among the youngsters. Redhu also highlighted the importance of a tight defense, which helped the Panthers maintain their lead and prevent Haryana from mounting a comeback.
Haryana Steelers’ head coach Manpreet Singh reflected on the defeat, acknowledging that the Panthers played better and that his team could not reach its full potential. Singh noted that the loss ends the Steelers’ season and that they will need to address their mistakes for the next campaign. The Steelers also missed raider Naveen Kumar, who was ruled out after just four games due to injury.
The Panthers will face Patna Pirates in Eliminator 1 on Sunday, October 26, while the Steelers look ahead to a stronger comeback next season. Their coach expressed hope that Naveen Kumar recovers from his injury and possibly continues with the team, though the final decision rests with the raider himself. The Pro Kabaddi 2025 season continues to unfold, with teams vying for a spot in the finals, and the Panthers’ victory sets the stage for an exciting Eliminator round.
