The All Progressives Congress (APC) Appeal Panel for the Ekiti delegate congress praised the exercise for being peaceful and transparent. Dr. Dennis Otiotio, chairman of the panel and APC chairman in Bayelsa State, made the statement at the party’s state secretariat in Ado‑Ekiti.
The APC had formed a five‑member appeal panel to receive complaints from aggrieved members about the delegate congress. A public notice was circulated to all local government secretariats, inviting members with grievances to submit petitions within a specified timeframe. No petitions were received, indicating a smooth and transparent process.
Otiotio attributed the success of the congress to Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s inclusive governance style, which has fostered harmony within the party. The consensus reached across all wards demonstrates the high level of cooperation among members. APC Chairman in Ekiti State, Mr. Olusola Eleshin, also confirmed that the delegate congress was conducted peacefully and without any malpractice.
The appeal panel’s findings suggest that the electoral committee handled the process efficiently and transparently. Otiotio expressed confidence that the APC will perform well in the forthcoming general elections, citing the party’s unity and peaceful atmosphere as key factors. He also thanked the National Working Committee for the confidence placed in the appeal panel.
The successful conduct of the delegate congress is a significant development for the APC in Ekiti State, showing the party’s ability to manage its internal processes effectively. With the panel’s confirmation of transparency and peace, the party can now focus on preparing for the upcoming elections, and the leadership under Governor Oyebanji is likely to build on this momentum to strengthen the party’s position in the state.
