The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned its members in Adamawa State of its commitment to unity and party strengthening. In a statement released on Wednesday, National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi expressed concern over growing divisions among members in the state. The party’s national headquarters has observed a rising split within the Adamawa leadership.
The ADC recalled that its National Working Committee (NWC) approved the formation of Interim Executive Committees to oversee party affairs in various states, including Adamawa, during a meeting on 8 October 2025. After an investigation, the party confirmed that the process conducted on 25 October, supervised by the National Vice Chairman for the North East, complied with the NWC’s guidelines. This process led to the appointment of Barrister Sadiq Dasin as the Interim Chairman of the ADC in Adamawa State.
The party recognized Dasin’s leadership and urged members involved in parallel arrangements to reconsider their stance and pursue reconciliation. It encouraged Dasin to extend an olive branch to all members, address legitimate grievances, and reaffirmed its commitment to fairness and justice for everyone. While the ADC is willing to address genuine concerns, it warned that it will not tolerate acts of indiscipline that could undermine efforts to build a strong, democratic party.
The statement comes as the ADC seeks to strengthen its presence in Adamawa State and promote unity among its members. This development highlights the party’s efforts to resolve internal conflicts and foster cohesion ahead of future elections. Managing internal dynamics will be crucial to the ADC’s success in Adamawa and beyond, as it continues to balance the interests of its diverse membership while maintaining a unified front.
