AI museum hopes to wow visitors with 'Infinity Room'

The Museum of AI Arts, slated to open in Los Angeles in spring 2026, has revealed new details about its offerings. Situated at the base of a Frank Gehry‑designed tower, the museum—called Dataland—will occupy 25,000 square feet and house five galleries dedicated to machine‑made art.

The L.A.–based digital art studio Refik Anadol Studio, which is behind the Dataland project, has announced the museum’s forthcoming Infinity Room. This immersive data sculpture, inspired by the Light and Space movement, was created by artist Refik Anadol a decade ago and will serve as one of the museum’s main attractions. The Infinity Room will employ an advanced generative‑AI model that understands real‑world physics and spatial properties, and it will feature AI‑generated scents derived from the museum’s Large Nature Model, which sources data from the natural world. The combination of visuals and scents promises a fully immersive experience for visitors.

In addition to the Infinity Room, Dataland has introduced an Artist Residency Program that will bring together three human artists to explore human‑machine collaborations. The program aims to push the boundaries of how AI can transform culture, storytelling, and design by providing a platform for artists to experiment with AI‑powered tools and techniques, fostering new and innovative forms of artistic expression.

The 2026 opening of Dataland is significant because it will provide a dedicated space for showcasing the potential of artificial intelligence in the arts. With its focus on machine‑made works and human‑machine collaborations, the museum is poised to become a hub for innovation and creativity. As AI’s role in the arts continues to expand, Dataland is likely to play an important part in shaping the future of this emerging field, attracting visitors worldwide and offering fresh perspectives on the intersection of artificial intelligence and human creativity.
