2027: SDP will defeat APC, Tinubu – Lilian Adebayo

Lilian Adebayo, the wife of the Social Democratic Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, expressed confidence that her husband’s party can unseat the ruling All Progressive Party in the 2027 election. Speaking to journalists in Abuja, she urged Nigerians to vote out the APC, blaming the party for the economic hardship afflicting citizens.

Mrs. Adebayo noted that the Social Democratic Party has moved past its internal crisis after the expulsion of former chairman Shehu Gabam and other executives. She called on Nigerians to honestly assess their situation and consider a change in leadership, warning that those who continue to support the same parties “live in denial” about the prospects for progress.

The party recently expelled Gabam and several officials, and its state chairmen have demanded an investigation into alleged misappropriation of funds by Gabam. They have appealed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the police to probe the matter and recover any misused money.

As Nigeria prepares for the 2027 general election, the Social Democratic Party aims to capitalize on growing dissatisfaction with the ruling All Progressive Party. Its ability to resolve internal disputes and present a united front will be crucial in its bid to unseat the incumbent government. Voters will be watching the party’s developments closely, and its message of change, coupled with a credible plan to address economic challenges, could resonate with those seeking alternatives to the current administration. The party’s chances of success will ultimately depend on its capacity to mobilize support and offer a viable alternative to the ruling party.
