The National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Musiliu Akinsanya—better known as MC Oluomo—has revealed that he spent more than N756 million to support President Bola Tinubu’s 2023 campaign. He stressed that the money came entirely from his own resources, with no financial assistance from Abuja during the campaign period.
In a video circulating on social media, MC Oluomo detailed the expenses, which covered hotel accommodations, logistics and daily allowances for Nollywood actors, actresses and other individuals involved in the campaign. He disclosed that 140 hotel rooms were booked at N45,000 per night for four months, in addition to daily stipends paid to campaign workers.
A long‑time ally of President Tinubu, MC Oluomo reiterated his commitment to the president’s re‑election bid ahead of the 2027 elections. “We’re not resting. 2027 is around the corner, and we’re already working to make sure Asiwaju wins again,” he said, indicating his readiness to contribute further to ensure Tinubu’s victory.
The sizable financial outlay underscores MC Oluomo’s strong support for President Tinubu. As a key figure in the National Union of Road Transport Workers, his endorsement carries considerable weight, and his pledge to continue backing Tinubu’s political ambitions highlights ongoing efforts to secure the president’s re‑election in 2027.
The disclosure of MC Oluomo’s substantial contribution has attracted attention as the 2027 elections approach. As the political landscape evolves, the role of influential supporters like MC Oluomo is likely to remain a significant factor in shaping the outcome of future elections, with similar alliances and endorsements expected to influence the trajectory of Nigerian politics.
