Saint Lucia: ‘You failed to plan Anambra’s future’  — Tinubu’s aide blasts Peter

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has challenged former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to clarify his stance on Nigeria’s current situation. In a statement, the party’s spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, urged Obi to choose between standing with the country and remaining in his “ever‑shrinking echo chamber of bitterness and resentment.”

Oladejo’s remarks came after Obi responded to the United States’ designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, attributing the label to the incompetence and poor resource management of Nigerian leaders. The APC spokesman countered that Obi’s behavior confirms why he was rejected by Nigerian voters, arguing that leadership requires maturity, not “melodrama and delayed outrage.”

Emphasizing that Nigeria will continue to move forward regardless of criticism from naysayers, Oladejo encouraged the public to focus on the Renewed Hope Agenda and to reject individuals who exploit the country’s challenges for political gain. He added that Nigeria’s success will not be hindered by those who wish for its failure and only react when pressured by public opinion.

The exchange between the APC and Obi highlights the ongoing debate about Nigeria’s development and the role of its leaders in addressing the nation’s challenges. The U.S. designation has sparked discussions about Nigeria’s human‑rights record, corruption, and economic management. As the country navigates these issues, the APC and other stakeholders are likely to continue engaging in dialogue about the best path forward for Nigeria’s growth and development.

The Lagos State APC statement reflects the party’s commitment to promoting a positive narrative about Nigeria’s potential and its efforts to confront the nation’s challenges. By urging Obi to clarify his stance, the party seeks a more constructive conversation about the country’s future and stresses the importance of working together to achieve progress. As Nigeria evolves, interactions among political parties, leaders, and stakeholders will remain crucial in shaping the nation’s trajectory.
