Global technology stocks surged on Thursday after Nvidia released its quarterly results, which showed continued strong demand for artificial‑intelligence hardware. Nvidia’s shares rose 5% to $196.53 in pre‑market trading, according to Reuters. If the gains hold, the company could add roughly $243 billion to its market capitalization, overtaking the valuations of major firms such as PepsiCo and Goldman Sachs. The upbeat results have eased some concerns about a potential AI bubble, though questions remain about the sustainability of the massive spending boom.

The robust demand for AI hardware sparked bullish sentiment across the tech sector. U.S. chipmakers Advanced Micro Devices and Intel saw their shares increase by about 5% and 2%, respectively. Other companies—including Arm Holdings, Micron Technology, and Broadcom—posted gains of 1% to 3%. In Europe, the tech index rose 1.2%, with ASML climbing 2.1%. In Asia, Taiwan’s TSMC jumped 4.3% and SK Hynix rose more than 1.6%. Japan’s Nikkei reclaimed the 50,000 level, driven by gains in chip suppliers and AI‑related stocks.

Nvidia’s forward price‑to‑earnings ratio stands at 28.44, lower than its rivals’—AMD’s 35.70 and Intel’s 62.38. The company reported its first earnings acceleration in seven quarters, powered by a sharp rise in data‑center sales. Revenue guidance beat estimates, and margins are expected to stay in the mid‑70% range through fiscal year 2027.

The strong performance of Nvidia and other tech firms carries significant implications for the industry amid growing demand for artificial‑intelligence and machine‑learning technologies. As the sector evolves, investors and observers will closely watch the durability of this growth trend and its potential impact on the global economy. With AI’s increasing importance, companies like Nvidia are likely to remain at the forefront, shaping the future of technology.
