Lagos APC hits back at Atiku over EFCC allegations

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced that Umar Jada, its Assistant National Publicity Secretary and North East Publicity Secretary, has resigned. Jada, a close associate of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, submitted a resignation letter stating that his departure is effective immediately so he can focus on other critical commitments and personal matters that require his full attention.

Known as “Calculate” in Adamawa State, Jada expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the ADC’s growth and visibility. He assured the party that he will continue to respect its leadership and support its objectives, indicating that his decision is not rooted in internal divisions.

Observers in Adamawa State were surprised by the resignation, given Jada’s long‑standing association with the party and his role as a key supporter of Atiku Abubakar. As a prominent figure, he had been a vocal advocate for the ADC and played a significant part in promoting its interests. The party, which is gaining momentum as a major opposition platform in Nigeria, now faces a notable development in its trajectory.

The ADC is navigating a complex political landscape in Adamawa, with various factions and interests vying for influence. While the party’s leadership has not commented on Jada’s departure, his resignation may reflect these internal dynamics. It remains to be seen how his exit will affect the ADC’s overall strategy, operations, and visibility as it continues to evolve and address the shifting realities of Nigerian politics.
