Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that six suspected members of armed‑robbery gangs have been arrested for allegedly stripping unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables in the Ajegunle and Alaba‑Rago areas. The police recovered a locally‑made gun, a motorcycle and two phones from the suspects.

The arrested individuals—Chukwuemeka Emmanuel, 21; Chukwuebuka Innocent, 24; Umaru Isah, 21; Emmanuel Ita, 19; Olayitan Ayinde, 18; and Moshood Ayinde, 25—were taken into custody in different parts of the state. Detectives said the arrests followed swift investigations into reports of robberies in those neighborhoods. Efforts are now being intensified to apprehend other fleeing gang members and to recover additional weapons.

Among the items seized were an unregistered TVS motorcycle, a locally‑made gun, an Infinix Note 7 and an iPhone 7. The suspects will be arraigned at the end of the investigation.

Hundeyin also relayed that State Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa urged Lagos residents to promptly report any suspicious activity in their communities, helping the police eradicate crime and criminality in the state.
