BREAKING: I will clear my schedule to visit Benue Wednesday — Tinubu

Former National Publicity Secretary of the now‑defunct New Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, says recent developments in Nigeria’s political landscape could enable the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to ascend to power in 2027. He points to Atiku Abubakar’s formal move to the ADC as a catalyst that will mobilise massive support to unseat President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the ballot box.

Eze argues that the APC’s current administration has turned Nigeria into a subject of ridicule internationally, and that Nigerians are ready for relief. He is confident Atiku will bring his extensive experience, leadership acumen and political sagacity to the ADC, strengthening the party’s prospects in the 2027 elections. The recent alliance with Rotimi Amaechi, a two‑time Campaign Director General of the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organization, is also seen as a significant boost for the party.

According to Eze, the ADC’s potential rise stems from perceived failures of the incumbent government, especially its inability to address poverty and security challenges. He contends that President Tinubu’s lack of preparedness to tackle these issues has created an opening for the ADC to capitalise on growing public discontent. Although Eze has not yet joined the ADC, he assures that he will soon align with like‑minded individuals to rescue the country from its current governance.

The former publicity secretary appealed to key political figures—including Peter Obi, David Mark and Nasir El‑Rufai—to unite in reclaiming and rebuilding Nigeria. He specifically warned Obi against abandoning the ADC to contest the 2027 presidential election under another party, cautioning that such a move would enable President Tinubu to extend his administration beyond 2027. Eze praised the unity displayed by Adamawa State politicians, such as former Governor Jibrilla Bindow and Senators Aisha Binani, Abdullazeez Nyako and Ishaku Abbo, all of whom have joined the ADC.

As the political environment evolves, the ADC’s fortunes in the 2027 elections will depend on its ability to harness the mounting dissatisfaction with the current administration. With Atiku’s shift to the ADC and the prospect of a united opposition, Nigeria’s political landscape appears poised for a significant transformation, and the next steps will be crucial in determining the outcome of the 2027 elections and the nation’s future governance.
