Ebonyi ADC Prepares for LG Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ebonyi State has initiated a membership drive ahead of local government elections in the state. As part of this effort, the party has distributed membership registers to all 171 wards in the state. This move is aimed at mobilizing support and increasing the party’s membership base.

According to Dr. Jennifer Nwafor-Adibe, the Ebonyi ADC Chairman, the distribution of membership registers is a crucial step in the party’s preparation for the upcoming elections. She emphasized the importance of members obtaining their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and party membership cards to formally establish their affiliation with the party.

The party’s leadership, including the National Vice Chairman, Diaspora ADC, Chief Fred Onwe, and the zonal Organising Secretary, Mrs. Nwotubo Catherine, have expressed confidence in the party’s readiness to participate in the elections. They emphasized the need for Nigerians to come together and work towards rescuing the country from its current challenges.

Engineer Dr. Opoke Sunday Andrew, National Coordinator of the National Coalition Alliance, criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the country’s current state, citing poverty, insecurity, and uncertainties. He described the ADC as a “child of circumstance” that has emerged to address these challenges and provide Nigerians with access to democratic dividends.

The ADC’s efforts in Ebonyi State are part of a broader push to increase the party’s presence and influence in the country. With the distribution of membership registers, the party is taking concrete steps to mobilize support and prepare for upcoming elections. As Nigeria continues to navigate its current challenges, the ADC’s emergence as a strong opposition party is likely to have significant implications for the country’s political landscape.
