Ebonyi: ADC distributes wards registers, mobilizes for LG election

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ebonyi State has launched a membership drive ahead of the state’s local government elections, distributing membership registers to all 171 wards. This initiative aims to mobilize support and expand the party’s membership base.

Dr. Jennifer Nwafor‑Adibe, the Ebonyi ADC Chairman, described the distribution of the registers as a crucial step in the party’s election preparation. She stressed that members must obtain both Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and party membership cards to formally confirm their affiliation with the ADC.

Party leaders, including National Vice Chairman (Diaspora) Chief Fred Onwe and zonal Organising Secretary Mrs. Nwotubo Catherine, expressed confidence in the party’s readiness to contest the elections. They called on Nigerians to unite and work together to rescue the country from its current challenges.

Engineer Dr. Opoke Sunday Andrew, National Coordinator of the National Coalition Alliance, criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the nation’s prevailing poverty, insecurity and uncertainty. He portrayed the ADC as a “child of circumstance” that has emerged to address these problems and to provide Nigerians with access to democratic dividends.

The ADC’s activities in Ebonyi State form part of a broader effort to increase the party’s presence and influence nationwide. By distributing membership registers, the ADC is taking concrete steps to mobilize support and prepare for upcoming elections, a development that could have significant implications for Nigeria’s political landscape.
