He claims that, although his children meet all the necessary requirements, their applications are repeatedly rejected once admission officers notice his surname, “Dachomo.” According to Rev. Dachomo, this pattern has occurred on several occasions, with his children’s files being set aside or quietly dropped during the screening process.
The clergyman says the rejections are not coincidental but a deliberate attempt to punish him and his family for his vocal calls for government intervention to stop attacks on Christian communities. He emphasizes that his children are innocent and should not suffer because of his activism. The repeated denial of admission has caused them emotional pain and distress.
Rev. Dachomo has appealed to both the government and educational institutions to cease discriminating against his children on the basis of his beliefs and public statements. His case underscores the broader challenges faced by human‑rights activists and their families in Nigeria, where speaking out against persecution can lead to personal repercussions.
