The Jigawa State Police Command has launched a statewide “Crime‑Free Christmas Campaign” to promote a safe and peaceful holiday season. The initiative urges the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through established emergency communication channels. According to Police Public Relations Officer SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, the campaign is part of proactive measures aimed at ensuring a tranquil festive period across the state.

The campaign was implemented simultaneously at all Divisional Police Headquarters in Jigawa, following a directive from Commissioner of Police CP Dahiru Muhammad. He instructed Divisional Police Officers to mobilize key stakeholders—parents, guardians, religious leaders, and traditional leaders—to sensitize the community about the dangers of social vices and criminal activities. The sensitization focused on cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime, vandalism, and gender‑based violence.

Reaffirming its commitment to community‑oriented policing, the Jigawa State Police Command called on the public to support its efforts to combat criminality and promote peace and justice. The police assured residents that adequate security deployment would be maintained throughout the festive period and beyond. By engaging the community and encouraging public participation, the campaign seeks to prevent crimes and ensure a peaceful celebration for all residents of Jigawa State.
