The African Democratic Congress has announced a temporary closure of its National Secretariat for the end‑of‑year break. In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, it was disclosed that full operations will resume in the New Year. The secretariat will close on 23 December 2025 and reopen on 5 January 2026.

During this period essential skeletal services will remain available, allowing the party to maintain a minimal level of functionality. All other official activities at the National Secretariat will be suspended so that staff and party officials can observe the Christmas and New Year holidays. This temporary closure is a standard procedure designed to give employees a well‑deserved break and an opportunity to recharge for the upcoming year.

The African Democratic Congress expressed gratitude to its members, partners, and supporters for their loyalty and cooperation throughout the year, acknowledging that such support is crucial to the party’s growth and stability. It looks forward to continued collaboration in the future as it prepares for activities in the coming year, remaining committed to its core ideals and democratic engagement.

In recent years the party has been actively engaged in Nigeria’s political landscape, advocating for democratic values and principles. The temporary closure of the National Secretariat will not affect its ongoing efforts to promote democracy and good governance in the country.

When the brief hiatus ends, the party is expected to return rejuvenated and focused on its mission to contribute to the development of Nigeria’s democratic process. The secretariat will resume full operations on 5 January 2026, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities that the new year will bring. With its commitment to democratic ideals and engagement, the African Democratic Congress is poised to continue playing a significant role in Nigeria’s political landscape.
