Kano Lawmakers Die Suddenly

The Kano State House of Assembly is mourning the loss of two of its members, Hon. Aminu Saad Ungogo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who passed away on Wednesday. Ibrahim Adam, Special Adviser to the Governor on Information, was the first to confirm the death of Ungogo in a Facebook post, seeking forgiveness from Allah for the deceased. Shortly after, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director of Media at the Kano Government House, announced the passing of Daneji, also on Facebook. Dawakin Tofa noted that Daneji’s death occurred an hour after Ungogo’s.

The simultaneous deaths of the two lawmakers have sent shockwaves through the state, with colleagues, government officials, and residents expressing condolences. As of now, the circumstances surrounding their deaths are unclear. Both Ungogo and Daneji were serving their respective constituencies at the Kano State House of Assembly until their demise.
