The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, was conferred a traditional title in Plateau State on Saturday. The title, “Kaeh‑rit,” meaning “the good seed of Ampang East,” was bestowed on him in Kanke Local Government Area. This honor follows another traditional title he received less than two weeks earlier from the Tiv Nation in Benue State, recognizing his humanitarian services.
Yilwatda expressed gratitude for the accolade and credited President Bola Tinubu for his political growth, describing the president as “one of the best politicians you can learn from.” He said he is learning from Tinubu and aims to emulate his success.
In line with President Tinubu’s focus on food production and poverty reduction, Yilwatda announced a donation of 10 million seedlings and other farm inputs to farmers in Kanke Local Government Area to support food security.
The APC chairman also welcomed Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s recent defection to the party, highlighting the advantages of a unified government and party structure in Plateau State. He emphasized the party’s inclusive membership policy, noting that all members enjoy equal rights regardless of how long they have been in the party. Yilwatda said this approach will create a single, unified family working together for the benefit of Plateau’s people, with aligned national and local government structures.
The traditional title ceremony in Kanke underscored the APC’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Plateau State and promote unity among its members. With Yilwatda’s leadership and the party’s inclusive stance, the APC aims to make a positive impact on the state’s development and governance, while the donation to farmers highlights its commitment to addressing key regional challenges such as food security.
