The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has disciplined 19 personnel for various acts of misconduct during the 2025 operational year. General Manager Mr. Olalekan Bakare‑Oki said the sanctions were approved by the Lagos State Civil Service Commission and included the dismissal of five officers, the demotion of nine, and severe warning letters to the remaining staff.
To curb indiscipline and unethical conduct among officers deployed on Lagos roads, LASTMA has strengthened its internal oversight mechanisms. The agency has enhanced its surveillance unit, deploying monitoring teams daily to check officers’ activities in the field.
