Atiku to step down for Goodluck Jonathan in 2027 election

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has made a revelation regarding Nigeria’s 2027 general elections. According to a statement by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele claims that former Vice President Abubakar Atiku will be asked to step down in favor of former President Goodluck Jonathan. This move is allegedly backed by the international community, including the African Union, European Union, and the United States of America, in conjunction with local actors such as TY Danjuma, Abubakar Abdulsalami, and Olusegun Obasanjo.

The clergyman states that Jonathan will be persuaded to join a coalition against the current administration, with the aim of serving as president for one term. Ayodele claims that meetings to discuss this plan began in late December, but President Bola Tinubu is unaware of the developments. Additionally, Ayodele reiterated his earlier prophecy that the US President will pose a significant challenge to Tinubu’s administration.

The involvement of international organizations and local stakeholders in Nigeria’s electoral process is not unprecedented. However, the reported plan to compel Atiku to step down in favor of Jonathan raises questions about the country’s democratic process and the potential for external influence. As the 2027 general elections approach, it remains to be seen how these developments will unfold and what implications they may have for Nigeria’s political landscape.

Nigeria has a history of complex presidential elections, with various candidates and coalitions vying for power. The country’s electoral process has faced challenges in the past, including allegations of external interference and political maneuvering. As the international community and local stakeholders continue to take an interest in Nigeria’s elections, it is essential to ensure that the democratic process is respected and that the will of the Nigerian people is upheld.

The reported plan to support Jonathan’s potential candidacy has significant implications for Nigeria’s political landscape. If realized, it could lead to a major shift in the country’s political dynamics, with potential consequences for the current administration and the opposition. As the situation continues to unfold, it is crucial to monitor developments and ensure that the democratic process is protected.
