Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has awarded automatic employment to Miss Surayya Kabir, a distinguished First-Class graduate of the Physics Department at Yobe State University. This development was announced in a statement by Mamman Mohammed, the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs to the governor, in Damaturu on Friday.
Kabir, who has been appointed as a Graduate Assistant at the Physics Department of Yobe State University, had earlier presented her appointment letter to Governor Buni, expressing her gratitude for the honor bestowed upon her and her family. The governor congratulated Kabir on her impressive achievement, praising her as a role model for girls in the state.
Governor Buni emphasized the importance of emulating Kabir’s feat, stating, “You are an excellent ambassador of the girl child education programme in the state. Others should emulate this excellent feat.” He reiterated his administration’s commitment to the educational development of Yobe State, ensuring that no child is denied education due to their economic background.
Kabir’s academic achievement is noteworthy, having emerged as the overall best student of her set with a remarkable 4.84 Cumulative Grade Point Average. This feat is unprecedented since the establishment of the Physics Department in 2006.
