Ogun APC Launches E-Registration to Boost Membership

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has launched a statewide electronic registration and re-registration exercise aimed at expanding its membership and strengthening the party’s structure. The initiative, which commenced on Tuesday, was introduced by Governor Dapo Abiodun, who emphasized the importance of building a united and strong party across the state.

According to Governor Abiodun, the e-registration process will enable new members to join the party seamlessly, while creating a transparent and reliable membership database. The technology-driven process is designed to reduce fraud, improve accuracy, and eliminate fake or inflated membership figures. The governor urged party leaders and stakeholders at all levels to mobilize supporters and ensure wide participation in the exercise.

The APC chairman in the state, Chief Yemi Sanusi, stressed that the registration exercise is a collective responsibility, requiring the collaboration of leaders, ward executives, and field officers to deliver a seamless and inclusive process. Sanusi cautioned that the exercise should not be viewed as a personal project, but rather as a means to unite and strengthen the party, consolidating its strength and positioning it for continued leadership and electoral success.

Several top party leaders, including the deputy governor, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, and the governor’s Chief of Staff, were registered electronically at the launch event. The APC has encouraged its members and supporters to participate actively in the exercise, which is expected to help build a stronger and more inclusive base in Ogun State.

The electronic registration and re-registration exercise is a significant step towards strengthening the party’s structure and expanding its membership. With a focus on transparency and accuracy, the APC aims to create a reliable membership database, reducing the risk of fraud and ensuring that all genuine supporters are registered. As the party works to build a stronger base in Ogun State, the success of this exercise will be crucial in determining its future electoral success.
