The Confederation of African Football (CAF) TotalEnergies Confederations Cup Group B match between Rivers United of Nigeria and DC Motema Pembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo is set to be played today. The fixture will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

Rivers United had been waiting for CAF’s decision after Motema Pembe failed to appear for the originally scheduled match‑day four clash on Wednesday. The club announced at the planned kick‑off time that the game had been postponed due to the non‑arrival of DC Motema Pembe and that they were awaiting further instructions from CAF.

Currently, Rivers United sit second in Group B with six points from three matches, just one point behind ASEC Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire. Motema Pembe, meanwhile, occupy the bottom of the group with two points.

On Thursday, Rivers United confirmed the rescheduling of the match via their Twitter account, stating: “The CAF TotalEnergies Confederations Cup Group B match‑day 4 tie between Rivers United and DC Motema Pembe will now be played on Thursday (today), 9 March, at 15:00 hrs.” The two teams had previously met on match‑day three, when Rivers United secured a 1‑0 victory over Motema Pembe.
