Deadly Israeli strikes targeted Gaza’s Al-Shati camp and Al-Shifa Hospital late on Tuesday, April 14. Medical staff reported that five people were killed in a drone strike near a makeshift café in the Al-Shati refugee camp. This incident underscores the ongoing violence in the region, despite a ceasefire that has been officially in place since October 10, 2025. On the same day, Gaza’s civil defense agency reported at least 11 Palestinians killed in separate strikes in the northern part of the territory, including a three-year-old child. This brings the total death toll during the truce to at least 757, according to figures from the health ministry, which are considered broadly credible by the United Nations.

Israel claims it is targeting militants and has conducted limited operations along what it describes as a military perimeter. In contrast, Hamas accuses Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire. Additional strikes in Gaza City and Beit Lahia resulted in several more fatalities, as reported by rescue workers. The restricted access to the territory complicates independent verification of these events. Aid groups have warned of deteriorating conditions as both sides exchange accusations, further straining the fragile ceasefire.

The latest wave of violence occurs amid ongoing tensions regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, which has faced challenges from both parties. International mediators have urged restraint, but the absence of a clear mechanism for enforcing compliance raises the risk of further escalation in the region.
