They are calling for immediate action from all parties involved to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people. The senators emphasize the need for the Quad—comprising the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt—to facilitate a sustainable path toward a peaceful transition of power.
Since April 15, 2023, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been engaged in a conflict that lacks a military solution. Over the past three years, millions of civilians, including women, children, journalists, and humanitarian aid workers, have endured severe violations of their basic human rights and dignity. Currently, Sudan is facing the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, with more than 13 million people displaced and over 29 million experiencing acute hunger.
