ADC Alliance Scares Tinubu Ahead of 2027 Election

Aisha Yesufu, a prominent chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has warned that the growing alliance among opposition leaders is emerging as a major challenge for President Bola Tinubu. In a post on her official X account on Tuesday, Yesufu stated that Tinubu and his allies are increasingly alarmed by the political realignments taking place ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

“The alignment that has happened and is still happening is one that they never envisioned,” she wrote, adding that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is now “very scared” of the opposition’s growing unity. Yesufu suggested that Tinubu’s camp is likely to intensify efforts to undermine the opposition’s momentum, urging supporters to remain undeterred.

The ADC leader’s remarks highlight the shifting dynamics in Nigeria’s political landscape, with opposition parties reportedly strengthening ties to challenge the APC’s dominance. While specific details of these alliances remain unclear, the developments signal potential turbulence for Tinubu’s administration as it prepares for the next electoral cycle.

Yesufu’s comments underscore the significance of opposition cohesion in shaping Nigeria’s political future, particularly as the 2027 election approaches. Analysts note that such alliances could pose a formidable challenge to the APC, especially if opposition leaders manage to present a united front.
