De'Zhaun Stribling, Kaelon Black among six draft picks to sign with 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have begun signing the majority of their 2026 NFL Draft class. Six of the eight players selected in the draft are now under contract, including second‑round pick De’Zhaun Stribling, who was taken at the top of the round after San Francisco traded out of the first round on opening night in Pittsburgh.

The signings announced Tuesday include third‑round running back Kaelon Black, fourth‑round offensive lineman Carver Willis, fourth‑round cornerback Ephesians Prysock, fifth‑round linebacker Jaden Dugger and fifth‑round offensive tackle Enrique Cruz. The team has yet to reach agreements with third‑round defensive end Romello Height and fourth‑round defensive tackle Gracen Halton.

In addition to the drafted players, the 49ers disclosed contracts with seven undrafted free agents. The newly signed free agents are Penn State tight end Khalil Dinkins, Tennessee defensive lineman Bryson Eason, North Carolina State wide receiver Wesley Grimes, Indiana defensive lineman Mikail Kamara, Notre Dame wide receiver Will Pauling, Notre Dame safety Jalen Stroman and Illinois defensive lineman James Thompson.

The draft class represents a broad infusion of talent across multiple positions. The 49ers’ decision to trade out of the first round and select Stribling early in the second round reflects a strategic focus on defensive playmaking ability. Signing the majority of the drafted players ahead of the preseason ensures that the team can integrate its new talent into offseason programs, position battles and training camp.

The two unsigned draft selections—Height and Halton—remain in negotiations, and their status will be monitored as the league’s rookie mini‑camps approach. The undrafted free agents add depth to the roster, providing competition for existing players and potential special‑teams contributors.

With most of the 2026 draft class now under contract, the 49ers are positioned to complete their offseason roster build and focus on preparation for the upcoming season. The final roster decisions, including the pending agreements with Height and Halton, will shape the team’s depth chart heading into training camp.
