The Group said the addition of Adebajo is intended to strengthen board oversight and support its transformation and growth agenda. FCMB noted that her broad leadership background is expected to enhance governance and strategic execution across the organization, and that the CBN’s approval confirms compliance with regulatory requirements for board appointments.
Adebajo brings more than 30 years of experience across industry, renewable energy, agriculture, finance and consulting, having worked with clients and teams throughout Sub‑Saharan Africa and Europe. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
She currently chairs the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund and serves as Transformation Lead at Etex Group, which includes Nigerite and Emenite Limited. In 2025 she founded Climate Governance Initiative Nigeria, an affiliate of the World Economic Forum, and she has been appointed to the Forum’s Council on Climate and Nature Governance for the 2025‑2027 term.
FCMB’s appointment reflects its ongoing effort to reinforce board composition with seasoned professionals who can contribute to the Group’s long‑term strategic goals.
