Lagos State will launch a month‑long Ministerial Press Briefing on Monday, 11 May 2026, as members of the State Executive Council present reports on activities and achievements of the Babajide Sanwo‑Olu administration over the past year.
The briefing was announced on 9 May 2026 by Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso. Organized by the Ministry of Information and Strategy, the series of briefings aims to provide Lagos residents with detailed updates on projects, policies and programmes across the state’s ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
According to the government, the annual exercise serves as a platform for MDAs to disclose “facts and figures” on progress under the various pillars of the THEMES+ Agenda. It also offers citizens the chance to evaluate ongoing initiatives aimed at improving welfare throughout Lagos.
“This year’s edition is particularly significant as it precedes the general elections. The exercise will enable the public to assess the performance of the Babajide Sanwo‑Olu/Obafemi Hamzat administration, appreciate the milestones recorded, and gain insight into plans for a Greater Lagos,” the statement read.
The government says the media engagement will reinforce public understanding of the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability and inclusive governance. It also underscores what officials describe as purposeful leadership and responsible governance in the state.
All briefing sessions will be live‑streamed on the state’s official social‑media channels, ensuring wide access for Lagosians and interested observers. The series is expected to conclude in early June, after which the government will compile the reported data for further public dissemination.
